Barastoc Pig Breeder Concentrate

Description

A complete protein, vitamin and mineral concentrate to be mixed with milled grain to produce a balanced diet for gestating (dry) and lactating sows.

Directions

Concentrate inclusion level will be determined by the protein content of other ingredients used. Users should consult a Ridley AgriProducts nutritionist for specific diet formulation.

The following guideline assumes a grain protein content of 11% and a 1 tonne mix size. Roughage (eg. cereal straw/chaff, lucerne meal, rice hulls) should be added to promote gut health and avoid constipation.

Lactating sows
Mix 100 kg of Barastoc sow concentrate and 100 kg of Barastoc grower-finisher concentrate with 500 kg of milled wheat, 250 kg of milled barley, 30 kg of lucerne meal and 20 kg of vegetable oil (finished feed approx analysis 13.8 MJ DE and 0.5 g available lysine).

Dry sows
Mix 120 kg of Barastoc sow concentrate with 100 kg of milled wheat, 750 kg of milled barley, 30 kg of cereal chaff/straw (finished feed approx analysis 12.5 MJ DE and 0.4 g available lysine).
